Three Generations of Family Tradition in Every Slice
Dino's Italian Bistro opened in the Back Mountain Shopping Center in 2002 by Michael Buonsante and is now proudly operated by his son, Gaetano. Our recipes date back to 1975 when Michael's father, Gaetano "Nino" Buonsante opened his first pizzeria, Dino's Pizza in the Wyoming Valley Mall.
Nino Buonsante left Mola di Bari, Italy to come to America when he was 12 years old. He learned to make pizza in Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York, where he managed several prominent pizza shops in the 1960s.
Over the decades, the Buonsante family has owned and operated dozens of pizzerias across Pennsylvania and multiple states, building a reputation for quality and consistency. Nino still currently operates Cafe Europa in the Laurel Mall, Hazleton, and Michael has expanded the reach of our family recipes to Naples, FL at San Giuseppe Pizza. Today, we continue to carry this legacy forward at Dino's Italian Bistro in the Back Mountain Shopping Center, serving the same time-tested recipes - rooted in over 50 years of experience and passed down through three generations.
